Clients
We like to see ourselves as an extension of your HR department. To do this we need to get to know your company, to understand your company culture, and we would like to understand why your company is a great place to work.
This is often best accomplished by us visiting you, meeting and engaging with you, and getting a feel for your environment.
We want to understand your business, its history, your priorities, and direction of the business.
In all our processes we ensure full compliance with the Labour Relations Act of South Africa.
The process usually works like this:
1. Clients send us a Job Specification (Description)
2. The Job Specification should contain the following headings:
- Job Title
- Job Objective
- Who the job reports to, and if and to whom it delegates
- Skills required, and number of years experience with such skills
- Other competencies required
- Minimum education requirement
- Salary range on offer
- Any other important factors such as if travel is involved, after-hour work etc.
(ITO Consultants may want to speak to HR or the Line Manager for clarification)
3. We search our database, search various recruitment portals, post the job on portals, and use our network of contacts built over many years of business to find suitable candidates
4. We field responses, screen and filter out irrelevant responses. We respond to ALL applications.
5. We invite a shortlist of candidates for interview at our offices. Should this be impossible due to candidate’s work pressure or logistical reasons, we may conduct a telephonic interview. At interview stage we get technical skills tables from candidates, we probe the competencies of the job, we get to understand the candidates career aspirations, we ensure suitability for the job and for our clients.
6. If we have any doubts whatsoever about the candidate we would immediately check a work reference by calling previous employers and enquiring as to the candidate’s capabilities and historical work performance. Alternatively we check these references at final interview stage. We prepare the candidate’s CV in our (Labour Relations Act compliant) format, and ensure that the CV states the job title for which they are applying, the candidate’s notice period, their current salary, salary required and all qualifications and job history in descending chronological order
7. We email the CV to our client
8. We arrange for clients to interview candidates, at the client’s request, as often as necessary
9. We check work references by calling previous employers with a check-list of questions that we have devised, we do credit checks, criminal and qualification checks at the request of clients
10. If required we can also do psychometric assessments on he candidate. There will probably be a charge for this service, but its a good ‘investment’.
Oh, and very occasionally, unless you insist we don’t, we may send you a CV where we may have met a candidate that we instinctively feel could add tremendous value to your company, and that we feel you would just love to meet!
