Description:

 We urgently need to recruit a POS/DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN who will form part of our client’s IT department, situated at their Head office, in Cape Town.

 The individual will be required to drive to the various stores daily situated in the Western Cape to offer Technical support.  They will also be required to travel to the Garden Route from time to time.  Technical support is inclusive of weekends and after hour on a rotational basis.

 INHERENT REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum two years experience

Qualifications: IT diploma or course qualification pertaining to Technical support

Previous experience as support technician is essential

Valid drivers licence and own car is essential

Ability to handle pressure

Excellent administrative and communication skills

Time management

Active retail (POS system) experience is advantageous

Familiar with Credit card switching

 

KEY DUTIES

Local and remote support of our retail stores (both 1st and 2nd line support)

Software support (1st and 2nd line)

Operational backup  - hardware setup, new system testing and store installations

Will be required to be on standby on a rotational basis for after hour and weekend support

Will be required to train users on new systems and system changes

General administrative functions within the IT department

Rotational  standby allowance for weekend and after hour support

13th cheque in December, however this is pro rata in the first year if not employed in January

We do not pay overtime, but they work rotational schedule for after hour support
